the story
Spadina the Red Panda is bright, thoughtful, and quietly brilliant. For the Tomb Trail he wrapped himself as a mummy, neatly, because of course he measured the bandages first. The treasure map is annotated in pencil with three possible routes and a note that says "probably this one". The little skull is a friend he found on the trail and named. The vase is for the pressed flowers he collects when nobody is looking. He is not naturally brave, and he went anyway, one careful step at a time.
Personality
Spadina is intelligent, patient and quietly funny, and the Tomb Trail brings out the planner in him. He reads the map three times, wraps his bandages so they will not trip him, and explains to the skull, at length, why the left tunnel is the sensible one.
Inner Struggle
Spadina would happily stand at the mouth of the tomb all night studying the map rather than walk in. He overthinks the dark, mistakes a plan for courage, and needs a nudge to take the first uncertain step.
Dream
To find out that being scared and going anyway is what brave actually looks like, and that the map was never the point.

Spadina is the one who knows the way. He reads the map when everyone else is guessing, keeps the skull company so nobody feels alone in the dark, and turns a spooky tunnel into a puzzle you can solve together.
