Why 4.0 mm and not what the label says
A worsted weight yarn label usually suggests 5 to 6.5 mm. Amigurumi goes smaller, normally 3.5 to 4 mm, because a stuffed piece needs fabric dense enough that the stuffing cannot show through the gaps. A looser hook makes a faster, softer fabric and a plushie you can see inside.

Safety eyes and small children
