Linda the Bunny, Pug the Dog, Chuck the Duck, Spadina the Red Panda and Tango the Flamingo. The five friends every Yon maker starts with, available as complete beginner kits and as standalone video lessons.
They are a skill path, not five separate projects
Every one teaches the same 14 core amigurumi skills, so any of them works as a first project. The numbering reflects how much each adds on top:
- Level 1, Linda the Bunny. The core skills and nothing else, which makes her the gentlest possible start.
- Level 2, Pug the Dog. Adds slip stitch and chain.
- Level 3, Chuck the Duck. Adds slip stitch, chain and your first surface embroidery.
- Level 4, Spadina the Red Panda. Adds clean colour changes for his markings.
- Level 5, Tango the Flamingo. Brings the whole beginner toolkit together in one project.
Kit or lesson?
The kit includes the yarn, hook, safety eyes, stuffing and stitch markers, with the magic ring already started and the video lesson included. The lesson is the video and written pattern on their own, for anyone who already has a hook and worsted weight yarn.
Each one has a story
These are not patterns with names attached. Every character has a personality, a role and a goal inside Yon World. Linda is a gentle dreamer learning that softness is a strength rather than a weakness. That is the character you are making when you crochet her.
