Trick or Stitch: Halloween crochet for characters you already know
Five Yon characters, five Halloween sets, and twenty two small projects you can finish in an evening each. Every piece is a costume or a prop for a character you may already have on your shelf, so the set builds a scene rather than one more standalone plushie.
The five sets
- Linda's Witch Night: a pointed witch hat, a caped collar, a midnight broom, a bubbling cauldron and a potion bottle.
- Spadina's Tomb Trail: a removable mummy wrap, a little skull, a tomb vase with a lift off lid, and a rolled treasure map.
- Pug's Ghost Walk: a hooded ghost cloak, a ribbed jack-o-lantern, a little lantern, a candle and a wrapped sweet.
- Tango's Reaper Watch: a pointed hooded cloak, a little ghost, a scythe and a spell book.
- Chuck's Vampire Ball: a top hat with a red band, a vampire cape with a standing collar, a goblet and a coffin.
What comes with each mini lesson
- A full video lesson, filmed stitch by stitch
- A downloadable written pattern, so you can work from the video or the page
- Right-handed and left-handed versions, filmed separately with a left-handed crocheter rather than mirrored
- An optional yarn mini kit, if you would rather not source the colours yourself
These are a good step up, not a repeat
Costumes and props are smaller than a character, which makes them the natural next thing after your first plushie. They are quick enough to finish in a sitting, and each one slips in a technique you have not met yet: a colour change at a hat brim, a scalloped hem, working flat in rows for the treasure map, a lift off lid, a stand up collar.

Each character has a Halloween bundle: the beginner kit plus that character's full set in one box. If you already own the character, there are lesson-only bundles that give you every mini lesson for that set without the materials.
